The Mall at Robinson is planning a house-cleaning now that the shopping center is 10 years old with some features to be updated and numerous stores to be renovated.

As a wave of 10-year leases come due, the mall said some new tenants have been signed, including Green Spa, The Limited clothing store and Smart Toys. More negotiations are under way, according to a release issued this morning.

Some established stores plan full renovations this year, while others are planning new fixtures, carpeting, flooring and paint, according to Shema Krinsky, director of marketing, in a prepared statement. The mall itself plans to add free Wi-Fi.

Work is expected to be staggered through the year.

The 860,000-square-foot mall owned by Cleveland-based Forest City Enterprises Inc. opened in October 2001, just after the 9/11 attacks. Since its opening, retail in the Robinson/North Fayette area has continued to evolve, with the Settler's Ridge shopping center opening several years later.
