A subsidiary of Range Resources has entered into a 15-year agreement with Sunoco Logistics Partners L.P. to process and transport natural gas liquids from southwestern Pennsylvania to an international port near Philadelphia, the Fort Worth-based company announced Wednesday.

MarkWest Energy Partners L.P., a strategic partner of Range's, will become the anchor shipper on Sunoco's Mariner East Project.

The project plans to connect the natural gas liquids extracted from the Marcellus Shale on the western half of the state with Sunoco's existing international port in Delaware County.

MarkWest will transport 65,000 barrels of ethane and propane from the firm's facility in Houston, Washington County, to Sunoco's Marcus Hook facilities near Philadelphia. Once there, the ethane and propane will be processed for delivery and sale to domestic and international customers.

Pending approval by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Mariner East project plans to be delivering propane by the second half of 2014. Ethane deliveries are expected to start in the first half of 2015.
