Giant Eagle is recalling some of its mangoes.

The company announced on Monday that it was voluntarilly recalling mangoes purchased from Splendid Products, LLC, since July 28 out of concerns that the fruit might contain salmonella.

Giant Eagle immediately removed the affected mangoes from its shelves and began contacting customers who used their Advantage Cards when purchasing the fruit, spokesman Dan Donovan said in a news release.

Some illnesses in Canada have been linked to Splendid Products' mangoes, but none have been linked to the fruit sold in Giant Eagle stores, Mr. Donovan said.
