HARRISBURG -- Gov. Tom Corbett will embark on his second international trade mission next spring, this time heading to Brazil and Chile.
The governor's office announced the trip this afternoon, stating that the state's Office of International Business Development has seen increased interest from companies located in the two South American countries.
"Brazil and Chile are two of the world's fastest growing economies and we have seen a growing interest in the market from Pennsylvania companies," Mr. Corbett said in a statement. "Strengthening our trade relationship with these countries will lead to new business growth and jobs for Pennsylvanians."
As with his trip in the spring to France and Germany, private funds will be used to cover for the trip's costs. The Department of Community and Economic Development will organize the trip with help from the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, a public-private economic development group.
According to the governor's office, the prior trip resulted in more than a dozen new investment leads and 10 active projects.
