Furniture retailer La-Z-Boy plans to get back into the Pittsburgh market. "It bothers me greatly to have markets the size of Pittsburgh where you can't buy La-Z-Boy," Kurt L. Darrow, the Monroe, Mich., company's chairman, president and CEO told analysts earlier this week. Mr. Darrow said there are plans for three stores in the region, with two likely to open before the holidays this year and the third in 2013. La-Z-Boy stores here closed in 2007. Later, Roomful Express Furniture carried the line, but the chain went out of business in 2010.
General Motors Co. is recalling 413,418 Chevrolet Cruzes, its best-selling car model in the U.S. last year, two days after GM had its best showing ever in J.D. Power and Associates' new-car quality survey. GM is recalling the compact cars from model years 2011 and 2012 in the U.S. because liquids can be trapped near the engine and catch fire, the Detroit-based company said. The company has received 30 reports of fires, said Alan Adler, a GM spokesman. The cars being recalled were made in Lordstown, Ohio.
