Two hundred local AT&T employees will be laid off, as the company announced Friday it will close two Pittsburgh call center offices.

The employees, who service business customers and consumer sales, will be without jobs effective May 24, their union said in a press release. The workers are members of the Communications Workers of America, AFL-CIO, Local 13550 and 13500.

Nationwide, 340 workers, most in call centers, will be laid off, the CWA said.

The local unions will hold a rally at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the AT&T location in Pittsburgh.
