Jennifer Betts joined Ogletree Deakins as an associate, focusing her practice on representing and advising employers on traditional labor and employment law. In the area of traditional labor law, Ms. Betts has defended employers against unfair labor practice charges filed before the National Labor Relations Board and grievances taken to arbitration. On the employment law side, she has defended employers in a wide range of employment-related litigation, including employment discrimination and harassment claims. Ms. Betts earned her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. During law school, she was the operations manager for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review.
David J. DelFiandra, partner, Leech Tishman was admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. As a partner in the firm's employment practice group, he counsels employers on employment relationship issues, from hiring through termination. He serves as chair of its estates and trusts practice group, where he works closely with individuals and businesses on sophisticated estate planning and administration issues impacting wealth preservation. Mr. DelFiandra earned his law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law.
Jana Volante, litigator, Fox Rothschild, was named to the Pittsburgh Advisory Council of Strong Women, Strong Girls. In her law practice, Ms. Volante represents clients in both commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense and compliance matters. Strong Women, Strong Girls is a nationally recognized mentoring program dedicated to raising the aspirations and self-esteem of elementary school girls by connecting them with college women in Pittsburgh, Boston and Miami.
Christopher P. Sherwin joined The Webb Law Firm as a patent agent. Mr. Sherwin is a graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law, and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
