Sharon Murtha joined Keevican Weiss Bauerle & Hirsch LLC as a member of its banking and bank regulatory law practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Murtha was in the law department at Bank of New York Mellon, where she led a team of experienced lawyers with responsibility to the treasury service department and other areas. She is a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College, with a B.A. in economics, and she received her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she was the business editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review.
Two Pittsburgh-based Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC, attorneys have been recognized by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers: James H. Joseph was named to the 2012 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for his work in bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights. Mr. Joseph is a member of the firm and advises clients in a variety of corporate transactions, with extensive experience in distressed mergers and acquisitions, commercial bankruptcy and creditors' rights. Kevin M. Eddy, an associate with the firm, was named to the 2012 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in the area of energy and natural resources. He also represents companies in the consumer finance and construction industries, and is treasurer for the Young Lawyers Division of the Allegheny County Bar Association.
Amy M. Tonti, partner at Reed Smith, was elected to the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden's Board of Directors. A graduate of Duquesne University School of Law and Chapman College, Ms. Tonti has practiced law in Pennsylvania and New York since 1980 and is employed by Reed Smith in its financial services group with an emphasis in financial restructuring and bankruptcy. She has been selected for inclusion in Pennsylvania's Super Lawyers (2010, 2011 & 2012 editions) and Super Lawyers, Corporate Counsel Edition (2010).
Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick and Raspanti, LLP said William Pietragallo, II, founding partner, was selected as a Pittsburgh Top 50 Lawyer by Super Lawyers 2012, and Marc S. Raspanti, partner, was selected as a Philadelphia Top 100 Lawyer and a Top 100 Lawyer in Pennsylvania by Super Lawyers 2012.
In addition, the following attorneys were also named by the publication as 2012 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers: Gaetan J. Alfano, Joseph J. Bosick, Mark Gordon, P. Brennan Hart, James W. Kraus, Joseph D. Mancano, Francis E. Pipak, Jr., Kevin E. Raphael, Eric P. Reif, Eric G. Soller, Clem C. Trischler and Paul K. Vey.
The following attorneys were recognized as 2012 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers "Rising Stars": Kathryn M. Kenyon, Ryan J. King, James F. Marrion, Daniel J. McGravey, Michael A. Morse, Christopher A. Iacono and Douglas K. Rosenblum.
Mr. Pietragallo received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He graduated from John Carroll University and also studied abroad, attending Loyola University of Rome in Italy. Mr. Raspanti received his B.A. from Villanova University and his J.D. from Temple University School of Law.
Janine D. Book, office administrator, Pepper Hamilton LLP, Pittsburgh, will remain a regional director of the Association of Legal Administrators, following leadership elections that took place last month at the ALA Annual Conference in Honolulu. In her second year as director, Ms. Book will be responsible for the overall management of ALA Region 1, which consists of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Ontario and Québec.
McGuireWoods LLP announced that four partners in its Pittsburgh office have been named Pennsylvania "Super Lawyers" for 2012. They are: Ronald W. Crouch, construction litigation; Sally E. Edison, bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights; Mark E. Freedlander, bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights and Leonard J. Marsico, business litigation.
Three Robb Leonard Mulvihill attorneys have been named 2012 "Rising Stars" by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers: Amy M. Kirkham, insurance coverage; Mark A. Martini, civil litigation defense and Matthew F. Dolfi, insurance coverage. Rising Stars must be under the age of 40 and have been in practice for 10 years or less.
