Accounting

Malin, Bergquist & Co. LLP promoted four accountants. They are John Kuhn, senior accountant, tax group; Gina Pelino, senior accountant, audit group; Lindsey Richards, supervisor and an auditor with the firm's not-for-profit/tax exempt organizations and employee benefit plan consulting groups; Brandon Woolslare, senior accountant, audit group and employee benefit plan group.

Education

The Community College of Allegheny County named Alicia Booker, vice president for workforce development; Clyde Wilson Pickett, special assistant to the president for diversity and inclusion; and Paul Schwarzmiller, vice president for human resources.

Engineering

Herbert, Rowland & Grubic Inc. said Christopher K. Bauer was named a shareholder.

Health

The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh said Mary Louise Russell joined its staff. She is an experienced pediatric physical medicine specialist, author, and speaker, and was formerly the medical director of children's rehabilitation services for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Beverly G. Farinelli joined as chief nursing officer.

Insurance

MetLife announced that William E. Thomas was named market leader for the greater Pittsburgh area.

Nonprofit

Reading Is FUNdamental Pittsburgh announce the addition of Mark Morrison and Pace Markowitz to its board. Mr. Morrison is vice president, global propylene oxide asset management at Bayer MaterialScience LLC. Mr. Markowitz is director of communications at NOVA Chemicals.

Redstone Presbyterian SeniorCare, a Christian non-profit provider of senior living communities throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania, hired Bryan Evans as its director for the Murrysville campus.

Professional Services

Jason Bennett joined PrincetonOne's Pittsburgh office as an account executive.

Award & Honors

David Koenig, chartered retirement planning counselor and vice president, Beaconsfield Financial Services, was named Five Star: Best in Satisfaction Wealth Manager for 2012 by Pittsburgh Magazine.

Gov. Tom Corbett and Susan Corbett recognized Judith Horgan, board president, Child Watch of Pittsburgh, as one of eight women named as 2012 Distinguished Daughters of Pennsylvania. Distinguished Daughters of Pennsylvania was established in 1948 as a way to honor women who have shown distinguished service through a professional career and/or voluntary service.
