New model year fireworks at Subaru are coming from the high-performance end of the family, with new and improved versions of the Legacy 2.5 GT spec. B with a new SI Drive high-performance system and the Impreza WRX STI Limited.
The Legacy 2.5 GT spec. B began life as a limited production model, but in 2007, it becomes a part of the regular lineup. The car's SI-Drive allows the driver to select the level of engine performance from three modes -- Intelligent, Sport and Sport Sharp -- on a rotary dial on the center console. That controls the electronic throttle system, fuel and ignition to modify engine torque characteristics. The 2007 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT.

The Sport Sharp mode provides lightning-like responses and is best for tackling winding roads and for merging with or overtaking other cars. Sport is good for driving on freeways, climbing mountains and similar activities, while Intelligent is designed for commuter driving. All wheel drive, a Subaru hallmark, is standard. Prices have not yet been announced.
The WRX STI Limited is designed to give owners maximum driving performance with a full dose of luxury at the same time. The interior features leather and dark gray metallic bezels and a power glass moon roof.
There's also more soundproofing, an auto dimming compass rear view mirror and an audio system input jack for an iPod or other digital music player.
Power comes from a turbocharged and intercooled 2.5 liter Boxer engine putting out 293 horsepower at 6,000 RPM . All WRX STI models are equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. Prices and fuel economy figures have not yet been announced.
