The landmark children's television show, with late host Fred Rogers, is the longest-running program on PBS.

At a news conference Tuesday afternoon in WQED's Studio A, a number of commemorative events were announced, ranging from a sweater drive to the rebroadcast of special episodes of the program.

The community activities are designed to involve children and families in ways that keep alive the legacy of Fred Rogers.
