TV Notes: New GM named for WPGH, WPMY

Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. has named Jim Lapiana general manager of WPGH-TV and WPMY-TV.
Mr. Lapiana has been director of sales for WPGH and WPMY since 2001. Before coming to Pittsburgh, he was general manager at TV stations in the Portland, Maine, and Raleigh/Durham, N.C., markets.
He succeeds group manager Alan Frank, whose expanded role with Sinclair will include more regional station oversight.
Norris returns to NPR
Michele Norris will return from a leave of absence to an expanded role as host and special correspondent for NPR News. She'll produce profiles, interviews and series, guest host NPR News programs and continue with "The Race Card Project," a conversation about race in America.
NPR also named Audie Cornish co-host of "All Things Considered" and Rachel Martin host of "Weekend Edition Sunday." Both had been interim hosts on those programs.
