Among 10,000 entries, Pittsburgher Andy Kelemen's fan-made promo for the series finale of "Lost" was found. ABC announced five finalists yesterday, including Mr. Kelemen's "The Lost Life," which will now compete for votes cast by viewers through Friday at http://abc.go.com/shows/lost/fan-promo-contest-vote.

Mr. Kelemen's 35-second spot features scenes from the series, key "Lost" touchstones -- Dharma Initiative canned food, an Apollo candy bar, an Ankh in a guitar case -- among scenes he shot locally.

"I took minute quirks from the show that appeared throughout the series and integrated some of the clips they provided," said Mr. Kelemen, 24, of Squirrel Hill. "I shot it all around WQED on a weekend, unbeknownst to them at the time, but they're fine with it."

Mr. Kelemen, a Buffalo native, has worked as an editor at KDKA-TV and WQED Multimedia, and he's about to begin a new job at Phenomenon Post, a Mount Washington-based production house.

A December 2006 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh film studies program, Mr. Kelemen was not a "Lost" devotee from the beginning. He had to write a paper about a serialized TV drama for a college class and decided to go back and watch the show's first two seasons. After that, he was hooked.

"I'm someone who really likes a show or movie that creates an environment out of nothing," he said. " 'Lost' is a very layered show with all these minute details. I really like things with minor details because the details make the show."
