Miranda Maleski hasn't had much screen time yet on Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance," but from the little anyone's seen, it pretty obvious that yes, she can.

Miss Maleski, 19, grew up in Plum and now lives in Los Angeles. Among her more impressive dancing gigs was recently performing as the solo ballerina in a big Kanye West production number at the Coachella music festival.

She tried out for "SYTYCD" in February at the LA auditions, and the judges sent her through to the next round in Las Vegas. Those Vegas auditions will be broadcast over two nights, tonight and Thursday, capped by the announcement of which top 10 men and women advance to the live weekly rounds in Hollywood.

The first of the shows from Los Angeles begin broadcast next week.

Although Miss Maleski was not a featured story from the LA tryouts, a brief clip of her audition shows her dancing up a storm and judge Tyce Diorio saying "Get the heck out of here -- that [ticked] me off, it was so good."

She also was featured in a commercial for the show, which aired during the "American Idol" finale two weeks ago.

"I heard the [show theme] music and oh my god, it's my daughter!" Mrs. Maleski said. "I tried calling her but her phone was off. She finally called back and said, 'Mom what is going on because I just got about a hundred texts in 20 seconds."
