"The Best of WQED" television will air at 8 tonight on WQED-TV. Part of the station's 40th birthday celebration, the documentary special promises "rare clips, interviews and photographs."
The program starts with WQED's earliest broadcasts in 1954, and it is hosted and narrated by program director Chris Fennimore, who also stars in and produces the "WQED Cooks" series.
WPXI-TV expands digital signal
WPXI-TV has installed a new translator in New Castle, which will allow viewers in the Big Beaver, East Palestine, Ellwood City, New Wilmington, Slippery Rock and surrounding areas to better access WPXI's television signal on DTV-capable sets or with digital-to-analog converter boxes.
The signal is broadcast on digital Channel 33. Once viewers tune to channel 33, WPXI-TV should appear numerically as 11.1 on their televisions. Me-TV (Memorable Entertainment Television) should appear as 11.2 on their televisions.
In order for viewers to receive this signal, it is important that they re-scan their digital-to-analog converter boxes and/or digital televisions.
Viewers who receive WPXI's television signal via cable, fiber or satellite will not be affected; they should continue to receive WPXI-TV as they have in the past via those service providers.
