Abby C. Goldstein named new WYEP general manager

WYEP 91.3 FM has chosen Abby C. Goldstein as its new general manager. Ms. Goldstein, most recently vice president for programming at New Hampshire Public Radio, will begin Nov. 14.
She succeeds former GM Lee Ferraro, who left the station in July. Greg Joseph had been the interim for several months.
"Abby Goldstein is a major catch for Pittsburgh and WYEP," said Linda McClintock, WYEP board chairwoman. "She brings 26 years of experience in all phases of radio programming, including public broadcast and adult alternative formats."
Ms. Goldstein was recently elected to a second term to the board of directors of the Public Radio Program Directors, Inc.
WYEP and WESA 90.5 FM also recently announced longtime jazz host Bob Studebaker will conduct a seminar, "The Incredible Story of Pittsburgh Jazz," at the stations' Community Broadcast Center in the South Side Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
There's been a big change at Squirrel Hill Magazine as well. Adrienne Block is the new editor of the quarterly publication. Ms. Block, a graduate of Chatham University's MFA in creative writing program, is a former managing editor of Autumn House Press, an independent literary publisher in Mount Washington.
The magazine, published by the Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition, reaches 24,000 households and businesses.
"I've watched Squirrel Hill Magazine develop into such a diverse and lively community," Ms. Block said, who said it was "an honor" to be involved.
