'Pittsburgh Batman' at Bricolage: Who is that masked man?

Grand Buffet didn't make its fans endure more than two years of downtime for nothing.
Along with its respective solo work, the outlandish indie-rap duo was busy concocting a new local hero.
Tonight, at Bricolage Theater Downtown, it unleashes "Pittsburgh Batman," billed as a "hilariously vulgar display of hilarity and vulgarity" -- just to emphasize the vulgarity -- in which "the cultural essence of the 'Batman' paradigm has been assassinated, shredded, combined with Pittsburgh Power, and rebuilt."
When they say Pittsburgh Power, they don't mean the arena football team. Rather, such characters as Andy Warhol, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Donnie Iris -- impersonations, of course -- along with assorted locally inspired musical numbers.
"It's Batman like you've never seen him before, Pittsburgh style," says Lord Grunge (aka Jarrod Weeks) to us. "Jackson [O'Connell-Barlow of Grand Buffet] and I came up with the story and characters years ago, and I penned [it]. It's going to blow minds. I'm sure it'll [tick] people off, too. Or just be totally ignored. All those scenarios are fine by me."
Joining Grand Buffet in the cast are Patrick Jordan, who was actually in the recent "The Dark Knight Rises" movie, comedian Davon Magwood and tech whiz Dave Mansueto.
"I've been fortunate to have gotten a group of really talented individuals on board for my zany play," Lord Grunge says. "Now that I can actually see the play, with actual people giving life to the characters, I'm way more psyched about it. That might sound like a really BS way to describe it, but it's the truth."
With "American Idiot" right down the street, will this be the punkest play Downtown this weekend?
Says Lord Grunge, "No contest, my man!"
