A.I.R. Awards finalists for local radio honors

Finalists have been named for the 12th annual Achievement in Radio (A.I.R.) awards recognizing the best in local radio talent, programming, news and advertising.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Tony Renda Sr. of Renda Broadcasting, who owns WSHH-FM, WPTT-AM and WJAS-AM in this market and other stations in Pennsylvania, Florida and Oklahoma.

The awards ceremony, an event benefiting the March of Dimes, will be held Nov. 8 at the Riverwatch in the Strip District. Tickets are $55; reservations and information: 412-391-3193 or www.airawardspgh.org.
