Every time you turn around, there's another major concert announcement -- usually involving Lady Gaga.

The shock-pop sensation will open the new Consol Energy Center in September, unless someone else gets there first, and then return next winter.

In the meantime, we have the usual June-to-August blitz of shows, with a few new faces but most of the same ones.

The First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown will be your country music headquarters. There are seven country shows, not counting Lynyrd Skynyrd, starting with Sugarland playing its first-ever headlining slot there, and followed by a new festival package called the Country Throwdown Tour in the vein of the Vans Warped Tour, without the need for moshing security.

The Pavilion adds a side of metal with Ozzfest returning to join the already-established Mayhem Tour, plus Iron Maiden and the reunited Limp Bizkit. Other than the bands on the Warped Tour, the only other contemporary alternative-rock act to headline the Pavilion will be Kings of Leon. Our own Christina Aguilera and John Mayer will add a contemporary touch.

The Trib Amphitheatre lineup, at Station Square, is an oddball mix, with everything from Busta Rhymes to Charlie Daniels. The coup there is the first Flaming Lips concert here in seven years.

The James Taylor/Carole King tour and R&B crooner Maxwell are the only acts booked at Mellon Arena, but still up in the air is the possibility of some kind of send-off concert there.

Among the highlights in the clubs: Blitzen Trapper, Avett Brothers, The New York Dolls, Built to Spill, Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

Here is the list, beginning with the larger venues:
