Pittsburgh Symphony hires assistant conductor

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has hired Thomas Hong as assistant conductor. Hong holds the same position with the Seattle Symphony and was an assistant with the Orchestre National de France among other groups. He also has extensive experience as musical educator and will run the PSO's education concerts and lead its pre-concert talks. Hong was born in Korea and immigrated in 1978. He has degrees from Philadelphia Biblical University, Temple University and the Curtis Institute of Music.
