A piano sale will be held this weekend at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre in the Strip District to mark the company partnering with Yamaha as the ballet's official piano supplier.

Close to 80 new and gently used grand, player grand, console and digital electronic pianos will be available at prices that "range from good to exceptional," said Joe Ravita of Modern Piano, the local dealership based in Pine and Mt. Lebanon supplying the instruments. Delivery and finance teams will be on site so buyers can arrange to have purchases shipped as early as the next day, if desired.

Some of PBT's pianos also will be for sale, Mr. Ravita said, and a portion of proceeds from those transactions will go to the ballet. The partnership provides PBT with pianos for its studios and the opportunity to buy new pianos over the next five years. "Live music is integral to our curriculum," said PBT school operations director Aaron Rinsema.

The event is by appointment only from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It's open to the public 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Call 1-866-580-6484 to schedule an appointment or for more information.
