It's hard to believe that jazz at the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild is coming into its 21st year.

Jazz musicians have always borrowed from other cultures, and it's clear that programmers were thinking globally when determining next year's lineup.

The new season's schedule was released yesterday, and it's shaping up to be one of the best ever.

Tenor titan James Moody and Little Jimmy Scott will get things started, and Pittsburgh pianist Ahmad Jamal will provide the bookend, but in between Moody and Jamal are African-influenced pianist Randy Weston, a tribute concert to Shirley Horn and Sarah Vaughan, the Latin Side of Miles featuring Conrad Herwig and Brian Lynch, and other performances.

Here's the complete schedule:

James Moody Quartet with special guest vocalist Little Jimmy Scott, Sept. 27-30.

Latin Side of Miles, "Trane and Wayne," featuring trombonist Conrad Herwig and trumpeter Brian Lynch, Oct. 18-21.

Lalah Hathaway's tribute to Shirley Horn and Sarah Vaughan, Nov. 8-11.

Randy Weston's African Rhythm Quintet, Dec. 6-9.

"Many Cultures: One Voice" celebration concert, Feb. 28-March 2, 2008.

Chicago Jazz Ensemble with artistic director Jon Faddis, March 27-30, 2008.

Chuck Loeb's Jazz and Bossa Nova, April 10-13, 2008.

Ahmad Jamal, May 1-4, 2008.
