Guaranteed Irish: The name says it all. The group -- Paddy Folan, Bruce Foley and Jimmy Lamb -- formed more than two decades ago, applying their voices, guitars, accordion, pipes and whistles to Irish ballads, jigs and waltzes, as well as folk interpretations of pop songs.
Red Hand Paddy: Formed in 1994, the band prides itself in a "rock and roll sound, combined with an authentic Celtic flavor." It mixes original and traditional songs with covers from bands like The Saw Doctors, The Pogues and The Proclaimers.
Bastard Bearded Irishmen: Starting out in October 2008, the rowdy band offers a home-brewed taste of the acoustic-punk-Celtic blend popularized by The Pogues, Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly.
Callan: The name means "ruckus," but Callan, formed in 2007, doesn't get too wild, highlighting Celtic tradition with a modern, even jazzy touch.
Mike Gallagher: The son of a Depression-era singer, the veteran Pittsburgh artist applies his pure tenor and 12-string guitar to Irish and Scottish folk ballads.
Sean McClorey: The Celtic folk singer is a Dublin native who first performed "Gypsy Rover" during a school play at just 12 years old.
