THURSDAY THROUGH NEXT SUNDAY

"Based on a story by Philip K. Dick" has become a standard big-screen credit since 1982, when Ridley Scott adapted the writer's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" into "Blade Runner." Victoria Stewart's "800 Words: The Transmigration of Philip K. Dick" is an adaptation of the prolific writer's life after he experiences life-changing visions. John Gresh plays the title role for Caravan Theatre at Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company, 937 Liberty Ave., Downtown, Thursdays through Sundays through Sept. 30. Tickets are $15-$20; showclix.com. (The show is for ages 18 and over.)
