Tom Cruise and "Jack Reacher" director-writer Christopher McQuarrie are expected to arrive at the SouthSide Works Cinema in time for Wednesday's 7 p.m. showings of "Jack Reacher."
People who previously RSVP'd for Saturday's postponed event will be admitted and no additional tickets will be available, Paramount Pictures said today. The event is designed to be far smaller and more subdued than once outlined, in light of the school tragedy in Connecticut on Friday.
Plans call for Mr. Cruise to address moviegoers to thank Pittsburgh for its support during the making of the movie a year ago. On "Late Show With David Letterman" Monday night, the host said of the movie, "Pittsburgh looks fantastic" and that he's noticed more and more films are being shot here.
Mr. Cruise agreed it was a "beautiful city" and revealed he walked away from the production with a distinctive souvenir: one of the nine Chevelle SS muscle cars used in an extensive chase. The segment also gave a shout-out to other Pittsburgh staples: bridges, Iron City beer and the Steelers.
