"Lincoln" leads the race for the British Academy Film Awards, with 10 nominations including best picture and best actor -- but nothing for director Steven Spielberg.
"Les Miserables" and "Life of Pi" received nine each Wednesday for Britain's equivalent of the Oscars. "Skyfall" got eight -- rare for an action movie -- and "Argo" took seven.
The best picture nominees are "Lincoln," "Les Miserables," "Life of Pi," "Argo" and "Zero Dark Thirty."
"Les Miz" is also a contender for best British film, alongside "Anna Karenina," "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," "Seven Psychopaths" and "Skyfall."
Leading actor contenders: Daniel Day-Lewis for "Lincoln," Ben Affleck for "Argo," Bradley Cooper for "Silver Linings Playbook," Hugh Jackman for "Les Miserables" and Joaquin Phoenix for "The Master."
Best actress shortlist: "Amour" star Emmanuelle Riva along with Jennifer Lawrence for "Silver Linings Playbook," Jessica Chastain for "Zero Dark Thirty," Marion Cotillard for "Rust and Bone" and Helen Mirren for "Hitchcock."
Mr. Affleck was nominated for directing "Argo" as were Michael Haneke for "Amour," Quentin Tarantino for "Django Unchained," Ang Lee for "Life of Pi" and Kathryn Bigelow for "Zero Dark Thirty."
Winners will be announced in London Feb. 10.
On the flip side of the awards ledger, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" garnered 11 nominations for the 33rd Annual Razzie Awards, and Katherine Heigl is in contention for worst actress for "One for the Money."
