'Hurt Locker's' Bigelow wins top honor from Directors Guild

Kathryn Bigelow was the big winner at the Directors Guild of America awards on Saturday night. "The Hurt Locker" director was honored before more than 1,600 guests at a ceremony hosted by Carl Reiner and can now be considered the front-runner for the Academy Awards.
Bigelow was competing against ex-husband and "Avatar" director James Cameron; "Precious" director Lee Daniels; "Up in the Air" director Jason Reitman and "Inglourious Basterds" director Quentin Tarantino.
In the documentary category, Louie Psihoyos won for directing the documentary "The Cove."

TV drama series: Lesli Linka Glatter for "Mad Men" (AMC).
TV comedy series: Jason Winer for "Modern Family."
Musical variety: Don Mischer for "We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial" (HBO).
Daytime serials: Christopher Goutman for "As the World Turns" (CBS).
Reality TV: Craig Borders for "Build It Bigger" (Discovery Science).
Children's programming: Allison Liddi-Brown for "Princess Protection Program" (Disney Chanel).
Commercials: Tom Kuntz.
