The Post-Gazette reviews movies from a family perspective:

'Here Comes the Boom'

Rated: PG.

Suitable for: 10 or 11-year-olds and up.

What you should know: Kevin James plays a high school biology teacher who moonlights as a mixed martial arts or MMA fighter to raise money to save a music teacher's job. In the process, he rediscovers his passion for teaching and much more. Cast also includes Henry Winkler, Salma Hayek and real MMA fighters.

Language: Some mild language.

Sexual situations: Limited pretty much to kisses and brief discussion about a later-in-life pregnancy.

Violence/scary situations: Lots, related to the MMA fights, with resulting cuts, bruises and even knockouts, along with some food-induced vomiting. Some mishaps are played for laughs since this is a comedy.

Alcohol and drug use: Adults drink wine and other alcoholic beverages.
