"The Dark Knight Rises" launched its official website today for the third installment of the Christopher Nolan-directed franchise.

The website TheDarkKnightRises.com is up and running with strange chanting and a first-look image, and a Twitter account -- @DarKnightRises out of the UK -- is tweeting away with news like this, via Variety, that Matthew Modine, Tom Conti and 11-year-old actress Joey King have been cast in the film, which will shoot in Pittsburgh later this summer.

Warner Bros. launched the official site today, which comes up as a black page with audio of people chanting. The image, seen above, is of Tom Hardy as Bane.
