To the Batmobiles, Pittsburgh.
You can't sit in them or start them, but you can see and take photos of seven official "Batman" vehicles from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday outside Heinz Field on Art Rooney Avenue near Gate A.
The Batmobile Tour, which is free and timed to promote the Dec. 4 DVD release of "The Dark Knight Rises," is visiting sporting events across the country and will stop outside the stadium which doubled as a set for the trilogy conclusion. The vehicles will be tucked under a tent.
Coming our way are: A Batmobile from the Adam West TV series and "Batman, the Movie" released in 1966; Batmobiles driven by Pittsburgh native Michael Keaton in "Batman" and "Batman Returns," from 1989 and 1992; a car driven by Val Kilmer in 1995's "Batman Forever"; a vehicle from George Clooney's "Batman & Robin," 1997; and two Tumblers (one black, one camouflage) and a Bat-Pod from "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises," released between 2005 and 2012 and starring Christian Bale.
"The Dark Knight Rises" Blu-ray combo pack will include "The Batmobile" documentary, an hour-long look at the motorized weapon in Batman's arsenal.
