The Post-Gazette reviews movies from a family perspective:
'The Social Network'

Rated: PG-13.

Suitable for: Mature high school students and above.

What you should know: This movie, which mixes fact and fiction, dramatizes the birth of Facebook on the Harvard campus, the tangle of personalities involved and the resulting lawsuits. It stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake.

Language: Two uses of the f-word, a half-dozen uses of profanity and maybe a dozen mild expletives.

Sexual situations and nudity: Couples kiss or, in one case, are shown the morning after hooking up, and young women undress or make out at alcohol-fueled parties.

Violence/scary situations: Nothing notable.

Drug or alcohol use: Lots of drinking among college-age people and some cocaine use.

'Catfish'

Rated: PG-13.

Suitable for: Teens and older.

What you should know: This is a documentary about the friendship that springs up between a New York photographer and a Michigan family, thanks to an 8-year-old artist. It takes very surprising turns as it explores her family on and off Facebook.

Language: One "Jesus Christ" and some flirtatious e-mails or text messages.

Sexual situations and nudity: Other than a bare-chested man, limited to briefly sexy talk.

Violence/scary situations: None in the conventional sense.

Drug or alcohol use: Nothing notable or outrageous although there is talk about someone entering rehab for drinking.
