South Korean rapper Psy's "Gangnam Style" has become the most viewed video on Google's YouTube website, surpassing Justin Bieber's "Baby," Bloomberg News reports.
The video, which contains satirical lyrics about the habits of wealthy South Koreans and features choreography mimicking horse riding, reached 805 million views on Saturday, while "Baby" had 803 million views, YouTube said in a posting on its Trends blog. The video is watched between 7 million and 10 million times a day, the blog said. The hits have now increased to 824 million.
The popularity of the video has vaulted 34-year-old musician Park Jae Sang into fame under the pseudonym Psy, earning the rapper appearances on U.S. television programs including "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and NBC's "Today Show."
The West China Metropolis Daily newspaper reported last week that Psy was in talks to appear on state-broadcaster China Central Television's Spring Festival gala, a variety show broadcast annually on Chinese Lunar New Year eve that is the nation's most-watched program.

"Two and a Half Men" may be a comedy, but it sure courts its fair share of drama, E! News reports.
A video of the sitcom's youngest star, Angus T. Jones, trashing the comedy surfaced online Monday, in which he calls the juggernaut CBS hit "filth."
In the 15-minute religious testimonial for Forerunner Chronicles, which was posted to YouTube, Jones, 19, directly urges viewers not to tune in, saying, "If you watch 'Two and a Half Men,' please stop watching 'Two and a Half Men.' "
In the wide-ranging interview, Jones, who plays Jake alongside Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher on the sitcom, goes on to say that he no longer wishes to be a part of the show.
"I'm on 'Two and a Half Men,' and I don't want to be on it. Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth," he said. "People say it's just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you'll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch."
Back in October, Jones expressed frustration over his character's reduced screentime this season. "My character does Skype calls. He only does one-scene Skype calls and, like, that's one reason it was awesome having Miley [Cyrus] on the show, because they actually brought my character out of the computer and into the actual set again.
"It's easy but it's boring," he continued.
CBS has yet to comment on Jones' remarks.

With its theatrical release still 30 days away, Tom Hooper's "Les Miserables" is already being touted as an Oscar contender for Best Picture, People reports.
The movie musical screened for the first time on Friday afternoon at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York, where The Hollywood Reporter was on hand to report on general reactions.
Although Anne Hathaway's role as Fantine in the film is brief, she makes an "indelible impression" especially during "I Dreamed a Dream," THR writes.
Hathaway -- who told attendees she spent four months working with a vocal coach before the cast assembled for nine weeks of rehearsal -- was willing to cut her hair short for the role, even though it meant she'd "be almost bald" for her September nuptials to Adam Shulman.
"When I eventually looked in the mirror I just thought I looked like my gay brother," she said at the screening.
Hathaway has not been shy in divulging how she transformed into Fantine. She recently spoke candidly to Vogue about her extreme dieting to prepare for the role.
The Academy Award-nominated actress, 30, began the process with a strict cleanse, resulting in a 10-pound weight loss. Then, she lived off two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste a day for two weeks, causing her to lose 15 more pounds.
"I had to be obsessive about it," she said in the magazine's December issue. "The idea was to look near death. Looking back on the whole experience -- and I don't judge it in any way -- it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that's who Fantine is anyway."

Justin Bieber bore the brunt of not one but two rather hard knocks over the weekend, starting with some harsh criticism over his choice of attire when meeting his home country's prime minister.
Which, as it happens, was a pair of unbuckled denim overalls.
It started out harmless enough, when on Saturday Selena Gomez's on-again, off-again boyfriend tweeted out a photo of himself in a backward cap, denim overalls, white T-shirt and yellow sneakers posing, thumbs-up style, with Canadian PM Stephen Harper.
"I met the Prime Minister in overalls lol," he wrote.
And that was the end of it -- until Sunday, when the ever-discerning Daily Mail described the meeting in rather unflattering terms, calling out Bieber as a "white trash prince" (which in fairness, he was originally branded by Gawker) due to his choice of wardrobe.
Which, naturally, Bieber couldn't let go undefended.
"The pic of me and the Prime Minister was taken in a room in the arena where i was performing that day," he explained on Instagram, captioning a screengrab of the Mail's online article and calling out the writer, Hayley Peterson.
"I walked straight from my meet and greet to him, if you ... expect me to have a change of clothes let [alone] a suit at that specific time that's crazy, It wasn't like it was like I was going into his environment we were at a hockey arena.
"Wow am i ever white trash hayley peterson lol."
And as those Canadians always stick together, Harper himself weighed in on Twitter, writing, "In fairness to @justinbieber, I told him I would be wearing my overalls too. #cdnpolitics #beliebers"
Unfortunately for Bieber, that wasn't the only hate he had to deal with over the weekend.
Sunday, he performed for the halftime crowd at the Canadian football event the Grey Cup, yielding an outpouring of boos and jeers from the masses when his name was announced, before he even had the chance to sing.
