It's the summer of the Hemsworth brothers: Chris Hemsworth has scored two of the biggest blockbusters of yet, "The Avengers and "Snow White and the Huntsmen," and became a first-time dad a few weeks ago. His little brother, Liam Hemsworth, star of "The Hunger Games" and the upcoming "Expendables 2," has some big news himself: He's just become engaged to longtime girlfriend Miley Cyrus.
Hemsworth's May 31 proposal, reported first by People magazine, came with a 3.5-carat cushion-cut diamond ring, handcrafted by Neil Lane in 18-karat gold with intricately carved diamond floral motifs in an art nouveau pattern.
The 19-year-old Cyrus, who achieved stardom as her alter ego Hannah Montana, tweeted, "Thank you for all the love today. I'm happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true."
She met the 22-year-old Australian hunk on the set of the movie "The Last Song" in 2009.
Grammy-winner Sheryl Crow has revealed that she has a common form of brain tumor called a meningioma, and that it is benign. Crow, 50, a breast-cancer survivor, told Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Doug Elfman, "I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor.
"And I was, like, 'See? I knew there was something wrong. I haven't really talked about it But it's benign, so I don't have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit."
In February, she flubbed lyrics to a song and joked to a Florida audience, "I'm 50, what can I say?"
Crow's rep told E! News, "She has no symptoms and everything is fine. It was a random mention during the interview. It was not meant to alarm anyone. She is doing great and is healthy and happy."
Charlie Sheen, cover boy of the latest Rolling Stone magazine, has admitted that he wasn't always "winning" just because he said he was.
"Clearly, a guy gets fired, his relationships are in the toilet, he's off on some [expletive] tour, there's nothing 'winning' about any of that. ??? I was in total denial," Sheen told the magazine.
Sheen, who lost his job on the sitcom "Two and a Half Men," will next be seen in the FX comedy "Anger Management," which will include an appearance by his ex-wife, Denise Richards, Entertainment Weekly reported.
"He and I are like best friends now. Confidants," said Richards. "He tells me everything." Although Sheen was quick to add, "We sleep in separate rooms."
Sheen also said he sees no problem with having a few drinks and that vodka -- "straight, because ice is for injuries" -- was his preference.
