David Letterman and Jay Leno's mutual admiration and condemnation societies are as robust as ever, as evidenced by another sneak preview of the CBS' "Late Show" host's "Oprah: The Next Chapter" interview with longtime frenemy Oprah Winfrey, E! News reports.

In the latest clip to roll out, Letterman talks about his rocky and lasting relationship with Leno, and while he definitely has some, unsurprisingly, less than flattering things to say about his competition, he also gives his late-night rival some high praise indeed.

"We were always friends before all of this happened," Letterman told Winfrey, denying her assertion that their supposed rivalry was the result of Letterman being passed over for the "Tonight Show" gig.

"He has a way ... he's an unusual fellow. I've never met anyone quite like Jay. And I will say -- and I'm happy to say -- that I think he is the funniest guy I've ever known. Just flat out, if you go to see him do his nightclub act, just the funniest, the smartest, a wonderful observationist and very appealing as a comic."

And here comes the "but"...

"Therefore, the fact that he is also maybe the most insecure person I have ever known ... I could never reconcile that."

Nice to know in these uncertain times that some things will never change. The interview airs on the Oprah Winfrey Network Jan. 6.

nKate Winslet has tied the knot with Richard Branson's nephew, Ned Rocknroll, People reports.

"I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rocknroll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family," the rep says. "The couple had been engaged since the summer."

According to British media reports, Leonardo DiCaprio gave away the bride in a ceremony so secret that the bride and groom's parents didn't know about it.

The Oscar-, Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning actress, 37, has been dating Rocknroll (his legal name), 34, since fall of 2011.

In August 2011, she and Rocknroll were on the same Caribbean island owned by Branson when a fire broke out and Winslet rescued Branson's 90-year-old mother.

Winslet previously was married to Sam Mendes and Jim Threapleton.

Nathan Followill and his wife, Jessie Baylin, welcomed daughter Violet Marlowe Followill on Wednesday in Nashville, People reports.

Violet, who was born at 4:01 p.m. weighing 7 pounds, 13 ounces, is the first child for the Kings of Leon drummer, 33, and the singer/songwriter, 28, who announced the pregnancy in June.

"I'm beyond excited/anxious," Followill, who wed Baylin in November 2009, tweeted at the time of the announcement.

Baby girl is in good company -- she joins cousins Dixie Pearl, the daughter of frontman Caleb Followill and Lily Aldridge, and Knox Cameron Patrick, the son of guitarist Matthew Followill.

Ryan Murphy is shouting out with "Glee"!

The show's creator and his husband, photographer David Miller, welcomed their first child -- a boy! -- on Monday, E! News reports.

Son Logan Phineas Miller Murphy arrived at 9:47 a.m., weighing 6 pounds, 6 ounces and measuring 21 inches long.

Sharing that Christmas came a bit early for the couple, the proud new papas sent out a birth announcement to family and friends that included a sweet snapshot of their son inside a festive stocking.

In October Murphy hinted at pending parenthood, telling The Hollywood Reporter he was hoping to start a family soon.

"I think I'll be incredibly fun and overwhelmed and all about manners," he said. "I'm excited to have somebody or something come in and say: 'Really? I don't care what you think. I'm going to do what I want.' "

In addition to "Glee," Murphy is also the mastermind behind "The New Normal" and "American Horror Story."

nKathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper are returning to co-host CNN's New Year's Eve coverage for the sixth consecutive year. The dynamic duo will ring in 2013 live from Times Square, E! News reports.

"As always, I await New Year's Eve with Kathy Griffin with grave reservations and tremendous fear, and I want to apologize in advance to anyone she may offend/assault/attempt to kiss," Cooper confessed in a statement.

The always unpredictable Griffin has never failed to put on a wildly amusing (and often entirely inappropriate) show. In years past, the fiery redhead has stripped down to her skivvies, dropped live F-bombs on air and even had some very choice words for a heckler.

Still, the famous friends couldn't be more excited to ring in the new year together, and Griffin is already aiming plenty of wisecracks at her newsie pal.

"I don't know what Anderson has been doing this past year. I assume he has been sitting, eating Bon Bons in his mother's apartment [while] watching reality TV, while I was helping spread democracy in Egypt or Syria or whichever," Griffin joked. "Oh, and did I mention we're giving away puppies at midnight?"

"New Year's Eve Live With Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin" will air Monday starting at 10 p.m. on CNN.

Thanks to a little film about a doomed luxury liner, Leonardo DiCaprio has certainly had a career of titanic proportions.

But if he has one regret, it's that he didn't seek out more work in the wake of the 1997 blockbuster, E! News reports.

"I probably should have done more movies during that time period. I took a solid break," DiCaprio said while promoting his latest project, "Django Unchained," on Thursday's "Today." "I didn't even understand what a hit was, you know? That movie came out and people were like, 'This movie is doing amazingly well!' and I'm like, 'Good, that's great!' "

But he was quick to note that the success of "Titanic" "gave me an opportunity, from that point on, to choose the roles I wanted to do."

That includes the part of slave and plantation owner Calvin Candie in "Django Unchained," a character DiCaprio says "represented the moral decay of the South."

When the actor is told that costar Jamie Foxx thought DiCaprio was "big timing" him at one point when he didn't acknowledge Foxx while shooting, DiCaprio insists it was nothing personal.

"For me, to get into that mindset, to be that character, that's the way I needed to be on set every day," he said.

"Django Unchained" is in theaters now.

Brandy and her music executive beau Ryan Press are engaged, People reports.

The R&B singer, 33, and former competitor on "Dancing With the Stars," went public with their romance last New Year's Eve, cuddling at a Las Vegas party.

Since then, Brandy has made no secret about what she wants from Press.

She told People in March that her daughter, Sy'rai, 10, (with producer Robert Smith), "loves Ryan, and he loves me for sure. But I don't have a ring."

But it wasn't about the bling: Brandy added, "I told Ryan I'd marry him with a bubble-gum ring."
