Local author Michel Sauret will sign copies of his new short story collection, "Amidst Traffic," during lunch and dinner at The Oven Pizza Co. in Pine on Friday.

The 22 stories, which are connected, examine themes such as existence, our relationship with God and redemption.

Kirkus Reviews described the book as "an ambitious collection of interwoven short stories about negotiating Christian values in a corrupt, violent world."

Mr. Sauret will sign books starting at 10 a.m. and again at 5 p.m.

The restaurant will offer a free gelato or holiday espresso drink to anyone who buys an autographed copy of the book.

The restaurant is at 2000 Village Run Road, 15090.
