Gone is the working-class, industrial environment in Homestead. It has been transformed from the home of U.S. Steel to the shopping center known as The Waterfront.
Carnegie Mellon University professors Jim Daniels and Jane McCafferty's new collection of poetry, "From Milltown to Malltown" (Marick Press, $16.95), takes a closer look at the transformation that led to this consumer-driven- economy era.
The collection includes photographs of the area by CMU's Charlee Brodsky.
