VisitPittsburgh holds photo contest

Hey, Pittsburgh -- get your cameras ready! VisitPittsburgh has launched a photo contest inviting folks to capture their favorite images of Pittsburgh to show the world why the Steel City was recently named one of the "Best of the World Must-See Places" to visit in 2012 by National Geographic Traveler.

The tourist bureau's "Say Cheese, Pittsburgh" photo contest offers $2,650 in prizes.

VisitPittsburgh will select 10 photos to post on its website for the public to vote for the top three favorites.

Three prizes will be awarded: First place is $1,000 and an 8 GB Lytro camera (valued at $400); second prize: $750; and third prize, $500.

Submissions will be accepted through Sept. 15. Public voting will take place from Oct. 1-9, with the winners announced on Oct. 17.

All entries must be submitted on visitpittsburgh.com/photo-contest-2012 and must be 300 dpi or larger. See full details at www.visitpittsburgh.com.
