As was expected, the Steelers placed wide receiver Plaxico Burress on the team's Reserve/Injured List due to a shoulder injury.
Burress was in his 12th year in the league and his seventh season in two stints with Pittsburgh after being selected by the Steelers with the eighth overall pick of the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft out of Michigan State.
Burress has 553 career receptions for 8,499 yards and 64 touchdowns during the regular season.
To fill the roster spot, the Steelers signed wide receiver Tyler Shaw (6-0, 180), an undrafted rookie free agent from Northwest Missouri State who was cut by the Arizona Cardinals last Tuesday.
