Steelers All-Pro linebacker James Harrison had a second back surgery today that is expected to keep him down four more weeks, his agent, Bill Parise, said.
The surgery was performed by team neurosurgeon Dr. Joseph Maroon, just one week after Harrison had an initial surgery to remove a piece of a herniated disk off a nerve.
"Just a little cleanup," Parise said. "It's nothing in any shape or form that is significant. It's probably a better recovery now because we got a better result now."
Harrison said on his Facebook page, "It's back to 6 weeks of down time instead of 5. O'well, better to have caught it now instead of a month from now."
