Ben Roethlisberger, wearing a suit and sporting a fresh haircut, met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell this afternoon at league headquarters in New York City.
The Steelers quarterback emerged several hours later and told a group of reporters that it was a "very productive meeting."
Roethlisberger also told reporters before getting into his car, "it's a very serious matter, one we take serious."
Goodell, so far, has had no comment on the meeting or what action, if any, he may take against the quarterback, who has been accused twice of sexual assault by separate women in Nevada and Georgia over the past year. Authorities in Georgia announced on Monday they would not pursue criminal charges against him and that case has been dropped.
