Pennsylvania State Police today warned drivers not to stop or park on bridges or interstate highways to watch fireworks.

In a release, Trooper Robin Mungo said police will cite drivers who stop or park on bridges or highways to do their oohing and ahhing. Unattended vehicles will be towed, she said.

The inbound Fort Pitt Tunnel will close at 9:15 p.m. Thursday before the Pittsburgh fireworks display at the Point, and traffic will be detoured to the West End Circle until the show is over, Trooper Mungo said. No tunnel closure is planned during tonight's Three Rivers Regatta fireworks display, she said, but troopers will patrol to ensure that traffic keeps moving.
