Steelers run out of miracles, left out of playoffs

By the time Sunday's afternoon NFL games were over, any postseason hopes slipped out of the Steelers' and Ben Roethlisberger's grasps.

The San Diego Chargers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime Sunday, eliminating the Steelers from the NFL playoffs.
If the Chargers had lost, the Steelers would have won the final wild card spot in the AFC playoffs.
The Chiefs missed a game-winning field goal with 8 seconds left in regulation.
Earlier Sunday, the Steelers defeated Cleveland, Cincinatti defeated Baltimore and the New York Jets defeated Miami, giving the Steelers their chance at a miracle finish to their season, which began with losses in their first four games.
