The Steelers brought back another former player today when they re-signed veteran safety Will Allen.
Allen, 31, was released this week by the Dallas Cowboys following a 51-48 loss to the Denver Broncos. He played three seasons with the Steelers before leaving in free agency after the 2012 season.
Allen will cost the Steelers a pro-rated portion of the veteran minimum of $840,000, or approximately $630,000. He is the second former Steelers to be re-signed this week, joining inside linebacker Stevenson Sylvester.
To make room on the 53-man roster, the Steelers waived injured safety Damon Cromartie-Smith.
