The Steelers re-acquired defensive end Sunny Harris today, but only for their practice squad.

Harris, drafted on the sixth round by the Steelers in 2009, was cut and then re-signed to their 53-man roster Oct. 14, 2009, after Aaron Smith went on injured reserve with a torn rotator cuff.

Harris spent training camp with the Steelers this summer but was waived Sept. 4. The Buffalo Bills signed him but waived him Oct. 6 and signed him to their practice squad. Harris also spent a brief period on Carolina's roster as a rookie before the Panthers cut him.

The Steelers signed Harris after defensive end Al Woods was signed off their practice squad yesterday by Tampa Bay.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
