NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- J.J. Mann scored 25 points and Belmont beat Robert Morris, 82-71, Friday night to reach the third round of the National Invitation Tournament.

Karvel Anderson led No. 8 seed Robert Morris with 23 points. Lucky Jones had 15 points and nine rebounds and Anthony Myers-Pate added 14.

Robert Morris (22-14) had only seven players available but led by as many as six points in the first half. Belmont trailed, 25-19, before scoring 14 consecutive points in a span of 4:37.

Mann, the Ohio Valley Conference player of the year, made 7 of 8 free throws in the final 1:21 to finish off the short-handed Colonials.

Belmont's final 11 points came at the free-throw line, where the Bruins shot 24 of 25 for the game.

Belmont, the Ohio Valley regular-season champion, will play the winner of a game Sunday between Illinois and Clemson with a trip to Madison Square Garden in New York on the line.Drew Windler added 18 points for the fifth-seeded Bruins (26-9).
