James Franklin's recruiting drought has finally ended.
The Penn State coach received a new 2017 commitment Wednesday, the first for the team since mid-April. Three-star recruit Brelin Faison-Walden, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound safety/linebacker from Grimsley High in Greesboro, N.C., announced his choice in a Twitter message, writing, "I will be furthering my my education and football career at THE Penn State University."
Faison-Walden — who had a multitude of offers from teams like Alabama, Clemson and Oregon — is the ninth commit in the class of 2017 for Penn State. The most recent commit prior to Faison-Walden was three-star Georgia cornerback D.J. Brown on April 25.
