Linebacker Jake Cooper and defensive end Ryan Buchholz each committed Monday to Penn State, according to recruiting websites Lions 247, Blue-White Illustrated and Scout.

Penn State has six commitments for the Class of 2015. Buchholz and Cooper -- both considered three-star recruits by Rivals -- are examples of the progress coach James Franklin intends to make at securing recruits from Pennsylvania.

Buchholz (6 feet 6, 230 pounds) is from Great Valley High School in Malvern and Cooper (6-2, 226) from Archbishop Wood in Warminster.

Four of six 2015 commitments are from Pennsylvania. For its 2014 class, Penn State had three Pennsylvania recruits.
