The Pirates activated Brandon Inge from the 15-day disabled list today and optioned Alex Presley to Class AAA Indianapolis.

Inge is in the lineup batting seventh tonight against the Phillies and left-handed starter Cole Hamels.

Inge, a minor league free agent who signed with the Pirates during spring training, was on a rehabilitation assignment with Indianapolis that would have expired today. He was hit with a pitch in spring training that resulted in an incomplete fracture of his right scapula.

Inge, 35, went 9 for 60 in 18 games on his rehab assignment, hitting two doubles and two home runs.

The Pirates had called up Presley to add a left-handed bat to the bench against a string of right-handed pitchers during the last several games.
