Reliever John Grabow will join the Pirates' Class AAA affiliate, Indianapolis, this afternoon in Richmond, Va., to begin a rehabilitation stint.

The length of the stint will be based on how Grabow feels, but it surely will last through the Indians' three-game series this weekend. If all goes well, it is possible he could join the Pirates for part of or all their seven-game road trip next week.

Grabow last pitched for the Pirates in a Grapefruit League game March 11, after which he was shut down by lingering elbow pain. But he has thrown symptom-free since then, including two innings in an extended spring training game Wednesday in Bradenton, Fla.
