Ex-Penguins assistant takes job with Capitals

Todd Reirden, an assistant coach with the Penguins the past four seasons, has accepted the same job with the Washington Capitals.

Reirden was not retained when the Penguins today named Mike Johnston their new coach, replacing the fired Dan Bylsma. Reirden worked with the Penguins defensemen and oversaw the Penguins power play.
